Delete your Opinyn account
You can delete your Opinyn account and its data at any time. There is no waiting period and no retention window — deletion happens immediately.
From the app
- Open Opinyn and go to your Profile tab.
- Tap the settings icon in the top right.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are deleted straight away.
By email
If you can no longer sign in, email info@opinyn.com from the address your account is registered to and ask us to delete it. We may contact you to verify account ownership. Deletion from active systems is completed as soon as reasonably possible and no later than 30 days after successful verification.
What is deleted
Everything below is erased permanently and cannot be recovered:
- Your account and email address
- Your profile — username, display name, bio, profile photo, birth year and gender
- Every dilemma you posted under your name, including its photos and videos
- Your votes, comments, likes and saved dilemmas
- Who you follow and who follows you
- Your notifications and notification settings
- Your device push token, so notifications stop reaching you
No additional retention period applies.
What is kept
Dilemmas you posted anonymously stay on Opinyn. They were never published under your name, and the private record connecting you to them is destroyed along with your account — so after deletion they can no longer be traced back to you by anyone, including us.
If you want an anonymous dilemma removed as well, delete it in the app before deleting your account, or tell us which one when you email us.
